Our annual Live Like Champions (LLC) scholarship is open to all eligible senior football players. As many of you know, this scholarship was created in 2017 after the the passing of our beloved Coach Driskell. The LLC motto was not created by the Touchdown Club, the players, the school or his family. This motto WAS Coach D’s cornerstone philosophy. LIVING like a champion transcends the weight room, game night, statistics and touchdowns. It also transcends football - As part of the BV tiger family - this philosophy applies to ALL of us.
1- FAMILY: We are going to be there for each other. We are going to support each other. We are going to encourage each other to greatness. No matter what happens, no matter what adversity strikes and no matter what we go through: we will get through anything and everything if we do it together.
2. LEADERSHIP: We are going to have an entire team full of leaders. Every person is going to learn to become a successful leader. Everyone is going to learn how to lead himself first, and then how to lead others.
3. SELF-ACTUALIZATION: We are going to maximize our ability. We are going to make the most of our talents, our opportunities, and our impact on the field and in the classroom. We are going to become everything we are capable of becoming. We are going to maximize our potential and make the most of ourselves and our lives.
4. CONSISTENT CHARACTER: We are going to dictate our own attitudes and actions.
We are going to have a great attitude and give a great effort at all times, regardless of the circumstances, regardless of the opponent, regardless of the scoreboard.
All essays submitted are reviewed by Kari Driskell, Coach Terrell, and the TDC executive board to select a recipient.
